Composer and singer Kristin Norderval specializes in composing and devising new works for voice and interactive technology, crossing disciplines. She has collaborated with Chants Libres (Montreal), Den Anden Opera (Copenhagen), jill sigman/thinkdance and New York’s Parthenia viol consort. Her first full-length opera, The Trials of Patricia Isasa, was premièred at Montreal’s Monument National Theater in 2016, winning Quebec’s OPUS prize for best production in Montreal and best contemporary music. Norderval has performed with the Oslo Sinfonietta, Philip Glass Ensemble, Nederlands Dans Theater and San Francisco Symphony and she appears on numerous recordings for various labels. In 2012, Norderval was included in New Yorker’s music critic Alex Ross’s list of ‘Ten Notable Classical Music Recordings’.
