Andrew Manze



Andrew Manze is recognized as one of the most stimulating and inspirational conductors of his generation. He has been chief conductor of the NDR Radiophilharmonie in Hanover since 2014, and his contract has been renewed until the summer of 2021. Manze and the orchestra have toured in Germany and Austria as well as in China, South Korea and the UK. In great demand as a guest conductor, he has long-standing relationships with a number of leading international orchestras including the Leipzig Gewandhausorchester, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Hallé and the Swedish Chamber Orchestra. Manze studied the violin and is a leading specialist in the world of historical performance practice. He has a wide-ranging and award-winning discography both as a violinist and as a conductor. Andrew Manze is a fellow of the Royal Academy of Music and in 2011 he received the prestigious Rolf Schock Prize in Stockholm.
