Jaime Martín has risen quickly to international acclaim as a conductor following his prominent career as a flautist. In 2013 he became artistic director and principal conductor of the Gävle Symphony Orchestra, and he is also chief conductor of the Orquestra de Cadaqués. Since turning to conducting he has worked with orchestras such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo and Lausanne Chamber Orchestra. Jaime Martín made his operatic debut in 2012 at El Escorial in Madrid and has since conducted productions at English National Opera. He has recorded a number of discs, both as a conductor and in his capacity as a flautist.
