Eva Ollikainen decided to pursue a career in conducting when she was just a teenager, studying with Leif Segerstam and Jorma Panula at the Sibelius Academy. She went on to receive further instruction from Kurt Masur, Christoph von Dohnányi, Bernard Haitink, Herbert Blomstedt and James Levine. At the age of 21 Eva Ollikainen won the international Jorma Panula Conducting Competition. Since then she has developed a comprehensive repertoire from Mozart to contemporary music and regularly works with leading orchestras such as the Staatskapelle Dresden, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra, Turku Philharmonic Orchestra, Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and the Brussels Philharmonic.
