Dalia Stasevska



Dalia Stasevska studied violin and composition at the Tampere Conservatory and violin, viola and conducting at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki; her conducting teachers included Jorma Panula and Leif Segerstam. Chief conductor of the Lahti Symphony Orchestra and artistic director of the Lahti International Sibelius Festival, she also holds the post of principal guest conductor of the BBC Symphony Orchestra. She has appeared as a guest conductor with prominent orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra, Washington, as well as Orchestre National de France, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre symphonique de Montréal and Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. Opera highlights include Madama Butterfly and Lucia di Lammermoor with the Norwegian Opera and Don Giovanni with the Royal Swedish Opera.

Dalia Stasevska conducted the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra at the Nobel Prize Ceremony in 2018. In 2020 she was awarded the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Conductor Award and was bestowed the Order of Princess Olga by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for her contribution to the development of international cooperation, strengthening the prestige of Ukraine and promoting its historical and cultural heritage.
