Tim Weiss is the artistic leader of the Arctic Philharmonic’s sinfonietta. His repertoire in contemporary music is vast and fearless, including an impressive number of premières, commissions and recordings. He has been working as music director of the Oberlin Contemporary Music En semble for three decades and has led ensembles such as the Grossman Ensemble, International Contemporary Ensemble, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Mel bourne Symphony Orchestra. He also serves as the conductor of the Aspen Contemporary Ensemble at the Aspen Music Festival. As a committed educator, he has served as professor of conducting at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music since 1992.
