Quatuor Diotima

The Quatuor Diotima is one of the most sought-after chamber ensembles in the world today. Formed in 1996 by graduates of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, the quartet has worked in close collaboration with several of the foremost composers of the late twentieth century, notably Pierre Boulez and Helmut Lachenmann. The Quatuor Diotima has recorded exclusively for the Naïve label since 2009; in 2016 they launched their Diotima Collection for the label, devoted to the works of major composers of our time. Reflected in the mirror of today’s music, the quartet projects a new light onto the masterpieces of the 19th and 20th centuries. Since 2008 the Quatuor Diotima has enjoyed a privileged relationship with the Région Centre-Val de Loire, which hosts the quartet in residence. The quartet is also regularly invited by the University of York for a series of concerts and chamber music master classes. The autumn of 2018 marked the beginning of a three-year residence as invited artists at Radio France in Paris. The Quatuor Diotima is supported by DRAC (Direction régionale des affaires culturelles) and Région Centre-Val de Loire and receives funding from SACEM (Société des auteurs, compositeurs et éditeurs de musique). On the present recording, Constance Ronzatti is replaced on the second violin by Léo Marillier.
