Peter Friis Johansson has performed at venues including Wigmore Hall, the Amster dam Concertgebouw and the Musikverein in Vienna, and is a former artist in residence at the Swedish Radio classical music channel P2. His international breakthrough came in 2014 when he won first prize and gold medal at the Alaska International Piano-e-Competition.
In concert he has won recognition for his cycles of Schubert’s eleven completed piano sonatas and for numerous genre-transcending projects such as the innovative recital programme
The Final Frontier. Peter Friis Johans son studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm with Anders Kilström and Mats Widlund, and in Italy, with Konstantin Bogino as his mentor. Besides his solo career he is a dedicated cham ber musician, with long-standing partnerships with the clarinettist Emil Jonason and the cellists Andreas Brante lid and Jakob Koranyi. Together with the latter, he is the founder and artistic director of the Järna Festival Academy, one of Sweden’s foremost chamber music festivals.
