Leader of Orchestra Wellington and member of the NZTrio, New Zealand violinist Amalia Hall has been praised for her ‘compelling… spellbinding performance’ and natural artistry. Her achievements include winning first prize at several international competitions and being a finalist at the Joseph Joachim International Competition and International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians. As a teenager she won all of the major national awards in New Zealand. She has been a regular soloist with orchestras in New Zealand and internationally, including I Virtuosi Italiani, NDR Radiophilharmonie, the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan, the Mexico State Symphony Orchestra, Vallejo Symphony and Orchestra Wellington. Amalia Hall studied at the Curtis Institute of Music with Pamela Frank and Joseph Silverstein.
