Nobuko Imai

The Japanese violist Nobuko Imai is long established as an international soloist, appearing in the major musical centres of Europe, the USA and Japan. A keen chamber musician, she is also one of the founding members of the Michelangelo Quartet. Her discography on BIS includes the viola concertos by Schnittke and Allan Pettersson, as well as chamber music, and solo works by Hindemith, Reger and Per Nørgård.
