One of the most distinguished Latvian musicians, Ilze Klava is the principal violist of the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra in Norway. She has performed as a soloist with the Latvian Chamber Orchestra, St Petersburg Camerata, Sinfonietta Rīga and Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, premièring concertos by Ketil Hvoslef and Olav Berg. Sought-after as a chamber musician, Ilze Klava has toured extensively in North America and Europe as a member of the RIX Piano Quartet, winner of Latvia’s Grand Music Award. A graduate of the Latvian National Academy, she is a winner of the Latvian National Competition and the Moldova International Competition.
