Marijn Korff de Gidts received his Master’s degree from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and also studied in New York, West Africa and India. Besides classical percussion he is active in the fields of contemporary music, non-Western music, improvised music and electronic music. He has collaborated with actors, directors and visual artists in musical theatre productions by companies and organizations such as Toneelschuur, MC Kassett, Oorkaan and SOIL. The Concertgebouw Orchestra, Nederlands Radio Kamer Filharmonie, Slagwerk Den Haag and the Netherlands Wind Ensemble are some of the ensembles he has played with, and he performs regularly with his own groups Twitching Eye Trio and SOIL, for which he is also active as composer and director. He has worked on multi-media music projects with composers Aspasia Nasopoulou, Jasna Velickovic and Arthur Wagenaar. Since 2013 Marijn teaches at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
