Gjermund Larsen is a folk musician (violin) and composer who pushes the boundaries of the folk tradition with genre-crossing compositions. He graduated with a diploma in folk music from the Norwegian Academy of Music in 2008, appears regularly as soloist with choirs and orchestra and has composed a number of works for various Norwegian festivals. Larsen has received Spellemannsprisen, the ‘Norwegian Grammy’, no fewer than six times, and his close collaboration with the Trondheim Soloists has resulted in a Grammy Award nomination.
