Tuomas Lehto performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician as well as holding the position of principal cellist with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. He is a member of the New Helsinki Quartet and Total Cello Ensemble, as well as being the artistic director of the KuruFest chamber music festival. Beginning his cello studies at the age of three with teacher Anja Maja, Tuomas Lehto graduated from the Sibelius Academy, where his teachers were Hannu Kiiski, Marko Ylönen and Jan-Erik Gustafsson. He has recorded frequently and is a prizewinner of the 2006 Turku Cello Competition.
