Jan Lehtola is one the most successful and dynamic Finnish organists of his generation. He has appeared with the Finnish orchestras, has performed at international festivals and given recitals in European churches and concert halls. He was the artistic director of the Organo Novo Festival from 2007 until 2016 and chairman of the Finnish Organum Society (2009–14). For the Finnish Broadcasting Company (YLE) and various record labels he has made a large number of recordings, including two discs of Kalevi Aho’s organ music released on BIS. Lehtola graduated from the Department of Church Music at the Sibelius Academy, gaining his diploma with distinction in 1998. In 2005 he received a doctorate for his dissertation.
