Natascha Petrinsky was born in Vienna and grew up in Germany where she trained as a lawyer. Later she studied singing in Tel Aviv, where she graduated from the Rubin Academy. Since then she has sung at major opera houses and with eminent conductors and orchestras all over the world, including La Scala, Covent Garden, Théâtre de la Monnaie (Brussels), Teatro Real (Madrid), Teatro Colón (Buenos Aires), the Bayreuth Festival, Dutch National Opera, Hong Kong Arts Center, Tokyo, Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Sydney Opera. She has a wide-ranging and critically acclaimed discography and filmography. In 2015, at La Monnaie, she sang the title role in the world première of Penthesilea by Pascal Dusapin, which is the basis for Wenn du dem Wind.
