Elin Rombo

Elin Rombo made her début – as Christa in Janáček’s The Makropoulos Affair – at the Royal Swedish Opera while still a student at the Stockholm University College of Opera, and has since sung a number of leading roles there. Further afield she has appeared at venues and festivals such as Opéra Garnier in Paris, the Dutch National Opera, Berliner Staatsoper, GöteborgsOperan, Oper Frankfurt, National Theatre in Prague, Grand Theatre in Warsaw, Halle Handel Festival and Salzburg Festival. In concert she has performed with the major Swedish orchestras, and internationally with orchestras such as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under Riccardo Muti, the Wiener Philharmoniker and Orchestre de Paris. Among Elin Rombo’s numerous appearances on Swedish television are the international broadcasts from the Polar Prize and the Nobel Prize award ceremonies, both in 2014. In 2013 she was appointed court singer by the King of Sweden, and she received the Royal medal Litteris et Artibus in 2016. Elin Rombo has been a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music since 2017.
