Sandis Šteinbergs



The prominent Latvian violinist Sandis Šteinbergs is leader of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra. For many years Šteinbergs was the leader of Kremerata Baltica as well as a guest leader of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra. He also tours with the World Peace Orchestra under Valery Gergiev. Šteinbergs studied violin at the Emīls Dārziņš Music School with Romans Šnē, the Latvian National Academy and the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. A violin professor at the Latvian National Academy and active chamber musician, he is a member of the RIX Piano Quartet and a recipient of the Latvian Grand Music Award in 2004 and 2012.
