Torleif Thedéen

Torleif Thedéen performs with major orchestras on all continents, and has worked with conductors such as EsaPekka Salonen, Andrew Litton and Paavo Berglund. His numerous and acclaimed recordings for BIS include the major cello concertos as well as Brahms’s Sonatas and Bach’s Suites. A passionate cham­ber musician, Thedéen appears at prestigious venues such as the Wigmore Hall and Carnegie Recital Hall, with fellow musicians Janine Jansen, Martin Fröst, Julian Rachlin, Maxim Rysanov, Roland Pöntinen and Itamar Golan. Since 1996 Torleif Thedéen has taught at the Edsberg Manor in Stockholm, where he himself trained.
