Hannu Lintu took up the post of chief conductor of the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra in 2013, having previously held positions of artistic director and chief conductor of the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra and principal guest conductor with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra in Dublin. Recent engagements include debuts with the Chicago and Montreal Symphony orchestras, and returns to the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, NDR Elbphilharmonie, Iceland and Singapore Symphony Orchestras. Recent opera projects include Verdi’s Otello (Savonlinna Opera Festival) and Ariadne auf Naxos, Wozzeck and Tristan und Isolde (Finnish National Opera and Ballet, of which he is chief conductor designate). A wide-ranging discography has received international acclaim, including both Grammy and Gramophone Award nominations.
